MiniRoos Kick Off Program (U7 Socials)

This program is designed as a low-commitment, introductory series that lets families and young children “test the waters” of football. It’s a taster aimed at sparking interest among those who might be new to the sport.

Fun and Accessible: We focus on creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere where parent-child participation is encouraged. As a community club, we keep the program low-cost to remove barriers to entry, and we rely on dedicated volunteers — from the president and coaches to canteen staff and people setting up pitches — to make it all possible. So getting parent involvement early helps break barriers for all.

Short-Term Engagement: Designed as a kickoff experience, this program is all about fun and flexibility. Participants can join at any point during the season without the pressure of pre-season commitments. We provide a quick overview of football, helping everyone grasp the basics and decide if they want to get more involved.

Regular MiniRoos Program

This is an ongoing, season-long program aimed at building skills and fostering a deeper engagement with football. It offers a structured curriculum that helps develop fundamental skills in a more progressive manner.

Long-Term Commitment: It involves regular training sessions and may include organized games or drills designed to improve teamwork, coordination, and overall understanding of the game.

Pathway for Continued Participation: The regular MiniRoos Program is intended as a developmental pathway. For many families, it’s the step that follows an initial interest sparked by the Kick Off Program, providing a more consistent and immersive football experience in a low stakes competition format against surrounding local clubs.

In Summary

Kick Off Program: This is where we like most children to start its a great oportunity to introduce children (and their families) to football in a fun, low-pressure setting. Regular MiniRoos Program: This is generally more for children who've already participated in our kick offs program. This is more sustained and structured program that focuses on the long-term development of football skills, requiring a longer-term commitment to a team. Both programs are integral parts of Football Australia’s efforts to engage children at an early age, with the Kick Off Program acting as an accessible entry point and the regular MiniRoos Program providing a comprehensive, ongoing football development experience. If you're not sure start with Kick Offs - we are able to move children into the regular miniroos program at midseason if the coaches and you feel like thats the right option.
